My computer has black screen on it that will not go away. The computer is an anicent HP Omnibook 5500ct with Windows 98. It got that way when I saved a file to a floppy disc, and took the disc out before I closed the program I was using, causing the blue screen of death to come up saying I needed to put the disc back in , and press enter. I did that, put the disc back in and pressed enter, than the black screen came up and didn't go away. I have pressed litterally ever button, and it still hasn't gone away. This has happened before, but the black screen went away within a few minutes. At the moment I have two chioces, reset it or find someone to help me or find something about this issue in the maunal. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried turning it off and on? Did you take the plug out accidently? Why dont you reset it? Why dont you get a new computer? Hae you ever heard of windows upgrade packages? I think the title of your thread may make people reluctant to help you, I dont know for sure just a thought.
moved to correct forum. does anything else show on the screen? is it still black/blank if restarting computer?
