Can anyone help me with or give me a site with good instructions on how to set this up. It prepares ok but when I start to encode it fails because a path and setting don't match. Not really sure what they want set or where. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've just started using DVDRB for the first time with disc 2 of my Sopranos season 3 DVD. Four and a half hours later it's still encoding and its only at 65 percent! Is it normally this slow? I'm using DVD Rebuilder Pro 1.10.2 and CCE SP v2.67.00.27.
Joshewah , It really depends on your system specs and how many passes you are doing in CCE as 3 should suffice. I once did "39 Steps"(Old Hitchcock and in B&W) and it took 5 hours to do the whole disk but it came out great. Most of the DVD's I do are Movie only and they take approx. 2 1/2-3 1/2 hours depending on the movie.
With DVD-RB set to 3 passes my Pentium M 1.6 GHz laptop takes 4-5 hrs to finish the job. It will depend on how powerful your PC is, how many passes you choose and your Backup Mode (Full Movie, Movie Only, etc).
@Mike & Hermes, thanks for the info. Hmm sounds about right then. I've got a P4 2.67GHz (non-HT), 1Gb DDR RAM, and I have RB set to 3 passes with only Movie and Menus enabled. Would you reccomend using DVD-RB to do the actual backup once it has rebuilt the image or is it preferable to write with a separate program such as DVDdecrypter, Alcohol120%, Nero, etc.? Edit: I wasn't too sure of what I was doing in DVD-RB once the encription and rebuild were finished, so I opend the video TS folder from DVD-RB with DVDshrink and burned it that way. If anyone has any better suggestions let me know. Thanks
Since I have a laptop with an external burner, I don't burn automatically. I have it configured so it makes the ISO and deletes the Movie Files after ISO creation. If I had a Desktop, I'd probably set it to burn automatically with Decrypter (or ImgBurn) but wouldn't check the option of deleting all files after burn. You never know if you are going to get a bad burn that is not evident until you play the movie.
Joshewah, Set it up to automatically burn w/ Imgburn. I have a feeling that when you used Shrink it changed some of the parameters of the encode that DVD-RB did. Go to Mode>Make sure a check mark is next to" Output to iso image file"> then go to " Select iso output options> Make sure a check mark is next to " Automatically Burn ( Imgburn/ DVDD) ". Now the DVD will be burnt to DVD using Imgburn and you are done.
@Joshewah I agree with Car.Mike on not using DVDShrink, it will alter what you just did with RB. Either autoburn with ImgBurn/DVDD or manually burn with Nero. You do not need Shrink to burn your file with Nero, you can just add the file yourself. I have an older Dell, my wife now has it, that has the same setup as yours 2.6 processor and 1g Ram and never had any problems with RB and its output.
Just my opinion, but unless your original folder is over 6.5 gb I wouldn't run more than 2 passes for cce. I don't think you will notice a difference between 2 passes and 3 passes on folders under 6.5 gb and it is definitely not worth the extra time required to make another pass. I personally don't like to autoburn after completion of rb and prefer to burn the video_ts folder with nero. The only time I make an ISO and burn with imgburn is with DL media. I've had some rare playback problems burning ISO's. I completely agree with arniebear regarding dvd shrink.
I actually don't have Imgburn, but I do have DVD Decrypter. Should I look into getting Imgburn or will Decrypter Work just fine for auto writing the .iso? Mort, When using Nero to write the V_TS folder do I use the "create UDF/ISO" mode or is there a different way? I would like to try all suggestions for burning the DVD-RB encription to see what works best for me. The possiblity did cross my mind that shrink might down-sample the already encripted files but I am all too new at this so I didn't want to explore options on my own for fear that I may turn a few of my MCC-002s into coasters. Joshewah, No problem bud. We all had to learn to. Regarding nero, open nero express then select DVD Video files. Click on add. Locate where your folder is located after "location" then locate your folder in the window and double click untill you see the video_ts, then click on the video_ts once, click add then finish. Click next. Select the drive you want to use (if you have more than one drive), type in label name if so desired and select burn speed (disc must be loaded in the drive), click burn.
Mort, Nero worked great. I'm surprised how good the video looks too. A 7.3Gb .iso was transformed into 4.3Gb, and I could see very little quality loss. DVD-RB is very impressive.
Joshewah, Well done, glad to hear. Even though rb/cce/procoder is a little more time consuming (especially with slower pc's), once you have experienced the exceptional quality it is hard to go back to using any transcoding proggy's. With slower pc's the batch feature is very handy. Encode a couple folders while you sleep or are at work then burn at your convenience.
