Ok, I've been playing Civ 4 for about a month now. Never really had a problem except for occasional in-game crashing. Now, when I try to start Civ 4 up, it says "Failed to Initialize Renderer= Check DirectX version and Graphics Settings". I even went and downloaded the latest version of DirectX (released Jun06), and it still won't boot. What should I be looking for? I hope my video card isn't crapping out. Here's my system specs: AMD Athlon 3000+ processor, 2.17 GHz 1 GB Ram NVidia GEForce FX 5200 video card
EWWWWWWW your prossecor sucks =( lol no offense I recommend AMD Athlon Dual Core (alleast 2.5 gigaherds and 2000 megaherdz bus) lol I know thats not the problem though, I suggestion trying to reinstall the game or Uninstal your Direct X and reinstall Direct X 9.0c! Hope That Helps!
