PLEASE Help! I really don't want this post getting lost in the mix!I really hope someone can assist me with this before I toss my laptop at someone's face. I am so frustrated! I have wireless hooked up in my apartment. I have a linksys WRT54G Router hooked up. I have a PC in one room and my laptop kind of goes all over. Keep in mind it's a small apartment,so it's never more than like 20-30 ft, from the router. The PC has no probs,and whenever I turn it on,it instantly tells me it's connected. The laptop on the otherhand,can take forever to find my network connection,sometimes telling me there isn't even one available! Meanwhile the PC is connected to it. I ordered the Dell laptop with the wireless card already installed,and installed the one in my PC. I just don't get what's up. I have called Dell for support and Linksys. Of course when I'm on the line with them the laptop connection works fine. Then once off the phone,it'll tell me no connection available,or just start connecting/disconnecting while I'm trying to use it. I've tried changing the router settings and everything. I am at my wits end. There are alot of smart peeps on here,and I really want to avoid having to discuss this with someone from Customer Service AGAIN,who just runs me through the same freaking drills.PLEASE HELP!!!
Oh yeah,I have windows firewall turned off,not sure if that makes any kind of difference. I do, however have Mcafee firewall on.
