I am new at this, I just bought a coolsat 5000 platinum and would like to make it work. Right now, I do not have a clue in what to do first before it can work. Hi Coupe150, Welcome to Afterdawn. I own Pansat receivers so the operation of Coolsats are somewhat different. The basics are the same but updating the receivers are different for each manufacturer. I suggest joining the forum I link to below which is the main Coolsat forum. Everything you need to know will be there in the Newbie and Getting Started sections.
