get a partition maker than install it on the other harddrive,so when every ur pc starts up it will ask you where to boot from

Or you could go into bios/setup and select which hard drive to boot from, hit delete or F2 repeatedly (depending on computer) after powering on to enter bios, then select boot sequence, choose which drive to boot from.

were do do i get this program and how could i set it up. which one do i install it on the 200 or 300

the first hard drive master is now the 200gb and the 300 is slave
i tried entering bios and change around the order and did nothing
i used to boot from the 300 which was master(vista) so i changed the wires around in the pc and now oi am booting from (XP)the way it is now could i do something that i could boot from one or the other without switching the wires around

you need to format one of the hard drive and leave one of them with an operation system then when you get into the windows insert the windows cd and install a new operation system on the second harddrive !

I believe you can edit the boot.ini file so you can choose which disk to boot from.

Well if you dont hv any important data then it is easy to instal another window on the second hard drive through the operation system the when you install it every time you start the computer it will promp you to choose which windows you want to use !

i dont know how vista works , so i could suggest you to put your vista windows as the first one . when you login to windows vist insert your windows xp cd and make sure you choose `new instalation ` not ` upgrade` , and also make sure you install the windows xp on the other hord drive and then after you finish instalin the windows it will promp you to chose one of the windows !

Wish you had waited till I saw this post. All you had to do was install Vista on a slave drive and you get the boot screen everytime. The only bad part is that if you don't select an earlier version it goes auto Vista. But like you said live and learn.
