hey, im new to video cameras and video uploading, but what I do know is when I uploaded my first video that was about 7 min. long the file size was 1.3GB. Yea, I know this isnt new to you guys, but when you have 14GB of storage space total on your computer this is a big deal for me. Is it even possible to get my video under 100mb because I want to upload it onto youtube, any help would be great,
    thanks

    don't panic friend!

when you download from your camcorder you usually get an uncompressed AVI file. and it's not bad because it allows you to compress it later without losing much quality.

what you should do is to compress it with an MPG encoder, such as TMPGEnc, in order to upload it or create a DVD

if you do not overwrite your miniDV tape, then it's unnecessary to keep the huge AVI file on your HD
