Hey guys; Well; recently I asked my parents if i could hook back up our old Win98 computer for me to screw around with.....and it's been pretty great so far; in fact i'm typing this mesage on it right now!!lol!! NEway; the main purpose I wanted to use it for was to play my SNES Roms on;;; because the game controller I use requires a input jack that I found only on this computer....BTW; it's a Microsoft Sidewinder joypad;;(pretty old; i know; but it works good for my uses) So everthing went fine until I started playing Super Mario World--what happened was that the screen would get all choppy as if there was lag; the only problem is that b4 I would play Quake 3 Arena; which if by far more graphic and cpu intensive then the incredibly weak SNES graphics;;. so I was wondering if you know what I could do to my computer to reduce all that choppiness in the vid and audio.... thanx, Halen5150; P.s. I might add that I had to transfer my SNES Roms and emulator by data disc from my XP computer; so it's even possible that it might be a bad burn??? (Although I HIGHLY doubt this is the fact; but if you guys can't think of anything else that might cause this; then that's what I'll resort to as being the cause of this prob....) Experts Welcome! Thanx again AD; couldn't live w/o ya!
Some emulators do have problems with stuff like that, they are VERY CPU intensive. However, I know that the emulator Snes9x works on windows 98 with a P3 450 because I've used it, and completed SMW on it, the very game you're struggling with. Try that emmy out and get another copy of the ROM just to check it isn't something to do with that too.
