if ur agp is 4x or lower, you should probably consider another video card cuz that would be a waste of money

An XP 3200+? I doubt 4x very much, almost certainly 8x in which case yes that is the best Graphics card you can buy. What card you got in it at the moment?

    i have ati 9600xt 256
so the 7800gs is better than the 850pr0 or 850xt
i found that the core clock for the ati card is 500 ot more and for the nvidia 440 and the memory clock for the ati is 1000 and for the nvidia 1200 dont which one is more powerful

The 7800GS+ (specifically the plus) is faster because unlike a 7800GS, it actually uses the core for the 7900GT. Expensive for what it is though, around £100 premium on a normal 7900GT!

then if you want VIVO, get the X850XT! If you want the best VIVO can offer, get the X800XT All-in-wonder while you still can!

I have a sony vaio desktop pc model PCV-RS630G and was wondering what the advantages to replacing the video card would be?

I burn alot of movies so would this help in making the movies encode faster and stuff like that?

My system memory is 2 gigs and my cache memory is 1024KB in case that makes a difference.I also forgot to mention it has a Pentium 4 3.20GH and Clock Frequency is 3200MHZ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If also possible which would be the best Video card?

Poolpro: Can you tell us if you have PCI express or not?
UrDady: Yes, and yes but you don't want it because it's loads more for very little more speed, just get the X850XT standard.

I don't think you have PCI-Express, as the gfx card in your PC is an ATI Radeon 9200, which only comes in PCI or AGP. If it's PCI then there is really no point to upgrading, as there arn't any decent PCI gfx cards. If it's AGP 8X then see the second post of this thread, if AGP 4X then i don't know off the top of my head.

Ah right, didn't know it was a 9200, that'll most likely be AGP, so you'll be after an X850XT, since the 7800GS+ still seems UK only.
