how do I truly tell if my GTA:LCS is patch or unpatch

I posted a long entry last time on how my psp wouldn't load up & later found out that my GTA UMD is patched!
Alot things that have led me to buy a patched based on this forum & the forum of other side mashed together to create a huge mess!
My reference to the decision to buy the patched on was on this site:

Now its says in this site that they umd w/ a gun on the image is patched
I wasn't able see this until I bought it & was able to test it out!
What made it more confusing is that this post

I also asked some one in this forum if ULUS 10041 and they said it would work!
But luckily or not I found another GTA yes I'm planning on buying another the code is ULES 00151! Near the M ratings is a logo of 18+ which I think is a tell-tale sign for it being patch.
So can guys help me out?

the GTA with gun on UMD is NOT patched, i have it
pspupdates.qj.net messed up big time they've switched the UMD pic.
i can play Homebrew with my GTA with gta exploit by http://www.fanjita.org

I think its patched mine didn't work! That's is why I wanted to clear the entire issue up! I wanna know how to tell if the GTA is patch or unpatch!!!!!
Kinda like Deal or No deal situation here!!!
I've already read that basing on that link my psp should I either b downgraded or brick. But both probable events didn't occur!

how did you get your game if your from the philippines (same as me filipino)?
im here at japan and got mine from a local import shop. trust me mine works. oh darn how did you get a hold of the same copy of gta like mine but end up getting updated Patched version of GTA? kinda weird. i wanna but i dont know where to start.

sorry i misleaded you, i didnt downgrade, there's a chance of bricking my psp and i'm not ready for sacrifice.
i'm using homebrew on my PSP 2.5 TA-082 (IC1003).
i use snex9x emulator software on my psp.
so theoritically i can also downgrade and can execute the downgrader program.
http://www.fanjita.org <<< has the exploit to run homebrew its called eloader (eboch or sumtin), you copy this "save" to your memory card and then play gta, during the game (eg walking/running/driving) pause the game to bring up the gta menu, go to LOAD and choose the save with different picture (eg not gta) and load it. answer yes if asked to leave the current game.
if it loads up and brings you to fanjita/exploit welcome screen then your GTA is OK (Unpatched).
if it wont load then the gta is Patched
if its really troublesome for you i can send you an exact eloader off my memory stick?

I'm confuse! Are you telling my GTA is patched? Confusing!!! Yes I know there's a possibility of bricking any form of downgrading in a psp! So is there another way to test if my GTA is patched or not? w/o downgrading yet?

turn on psp with no game,
insert UMD, scroll to the controller ICON (game)
scroll down to the umd icon, this will play the GTA theme,
scroll down once more, this will display UMD icon asking if you wanna update your psp. if its update to 2.0 = unpatched version
if it says 2.6 = patched version (hence non-working for homebrew)

Now Confirmed! We have exchanged game details and its seems even though everything from box images to UMD serial numbers, kris2pe and i have identical GTA LCS game. except for the serial on the disc itself (disc surface where lens read)
Mine Unpatched - ULUS-10041 (2.0 update)
UPDL-010050A1 _ 1 _ 80a
UPDL-010050B1 _ 1 _ A05
His Patched - ULUS-10041 (2.6 update)
UPDL-0110050A1 _ 2 _ SCA
UPDL-0110050B1 _ 2 _ A03
the A03 insignia means its Patched
A05 is Unpatched and Homebrew/Downgrade friendly.

I have ulus 10041. And its the unpatched. It also has the gun on the face of it. The defining factor is the serial number after ulus 10041. Mine being UPDL-010050. Im not trying to correct anyone just throw it out there to add to this thread of info.

xche brought something to my attention. My version is actually UPDL-010050A1 UPDL-010050B1

Now I just want to verify coz I got a not so perfect shot on the mother board no.!
I think you can make out the no. finally!!! It kinda looks like a reverse 3 not its actually a six.
Can I finally Downgrade this? Of course I don't have GTA unpatch yet. But will search 4 it! Thanks!!!

What? Hex this is weird according to the instruction of other posters. There's only one motherboard no. on each psp right?
It will not have numbers on both side of the motherboard!

IC1003 if you dont have this Anywhere on your psp. your motherboard is not TA-082 there You CAN downgrade with small chance of brick, a lot of people posted they dowgraded with this model and succeeded.
your psp can have any other number on it, my psp also has the numbers of the latest pics you posted. but it doesnt matter, just the IC1003 marking which means Dont Upgrade yet.

The motherboard no. is located inside the UMD hatch right?

According to the statement if it is a non TA-082 it should be located on picture which on the left. While the marking of the TA-082 should have markings on the right r8?
The picture which you use on above is the marking located on the left!!!
Do I need to look for any other markings inside my psp? other than the one on the left?
Got it! I just needed to confirmed coz I need to know that these no. aren't some trick that sony could be devicing for me!

You dont look at the one at the left it doesnt matter whatever it is.
you look for IC1003 on the right, if its not there BE HAPPY, downgrade if you have Unpatched GTA LCS.
Some IC1003 psp users upgraded their psp and have success. but as a general warning, most people with IC1003 got their psp's bricked. So the author of the downgrader program Dark_Alex advices all people having psp's with IC1003 to NOT downgrade.
Heck even the UP Modchip cannot force this psp motherboard version to play homebrew.
