HELLO, I am having a problem burning my dvds. I have downloaded the Slysoft software, yet when i try to burn my dvd using roxio (updated) it tells me to please insert a Blank dvd-dl Could anyone tell me what that means. This is what i could think of its the type of dvd ? a double layered dvd which ya can buy but are really expensive. Why cant i burn mydvds on a dvd-+r dvd?
jjschmidt, Welcome to the forum. YOu are correct as D/L = Dual Layer. I have not used Roxio in 3 years but you probably need to tell the program to use a 4.7GB DVD instead of a 8.5GB DVD
I looked in Roxio settings and they all seemed right! I tried it again and the exact messgage that shows up when i click record ( you hear the dvd drive slow down kick the cd out and say) "please insert a black or rewriteable dvd dl.???? Does this mean I can only burn on dl dvds?
What slysoft program did you download? Just AnyDVD? If you are trying to take a store bought DVD and use Roxio to burn it to a single layer disc that will not work. MOst store bought movies are on dual layer discs today and you need a program like clone DVD that will take the movie files and re-encode them so they fit on a single layer disc.
