I have created a userbar which I want to put into my sig. I am unsure what to do with it. I got the final output, but am unsure whether I have the dimensions righ (you know to big for a sig), and I dont know what to do to get it into the sig. It is currently a .jpeg with dimensions of 438x57 and it is 615 kb big. Any help would be really appreciated.

    Signatures

These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying.

    1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.

    2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

    3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.

    4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

    5. All the abovementioned rules for forum posts apply also to the signatures.

Violation of these rules does not lead to an immediate ban. However if requested user must edit his or her signature to fit these guidelines.

    Thanks ireland,
1 more question I have cropped out nearly all space without anything in it. And the new file I have is only a few Kilobytes smaller. The original like i said is 438x57 so it fits the size but its file size is to large. I am unsure how to go about lowering the filesize. And the sig itself is only two words of text in 20 pt. size with 1 image and none of it is animated.

    also if this is true
could i still use the current "sig bar" i have created? and just change if a request for me to do so is put forth?

Shouldnt the forum rules state 50 kB instead of 50 kb?? Mine is just a tad over 50 kB......if i had to make a sig that was 50 kb i would implant a bullet in my skull, cause thats just impossible.

Okay i got the image to upload. Heres the weird thing. Okay I made the sig-bar using PhotoShop and Illustrator, I save the output as a jpeg and its 437x58 and 615kb or something. Huge right? I right click the same photo, do open with, Paint. once its open in paint I do a save as and presto the new file from paint is 45 kb!? And their the exact same thing!? All I can figure is that PhotoShop and Illustrator store info about the photo in the photo itself and that accounted for its size. Who knows but anyway heres what I came up with . . .

Thanks ireland, I was looking for a little feedback. And forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question but to put the image into my sig I just paste the [immg]link[/immg] into my sig field? (i kow that img is mispelled i did it to keep it from becoming a image link)

Thanks ireland for the help. I thought of a couple changes I might add in. But again thanks for the help, I was clueless about sig making and what not.

Where are you getting the +38035 kB from?????? According to the properies of my posted sig, it is 52087 kB (50.87 kB), which shouldnt be a problem. Dont get me wrong, and I respect you, just dont know where you are seeing the extra 38035 kB from, as I only see the 52087 kB.

    EDIT

LOL, forgot I tacked on the userbar, my bad. Ill swap it out when im a bit more conscious :/
