No ip address

    Unable to get my windows xp to establish an ip address. Comcast thinks it my be in the inboard ethernet card. Have an Ausu K8v se mobo. Everything was fine till I reinstalled win-xp os. Sorry for the lack of info. Thanks in advance.

    i think he's asking for help on getting an ip address. when you reinstalled windows, did you download the latest drivers for your motherboard or network card? that is the only thing i can think of as being the problem.

    Sorry for the lack of a question. I did not download or update new drivers for this motherboard or network card. unable to connect to the internet.

    Right clock on My Computer. Go to properties, then Hardware. Open up the Device manager. Look for yellow exclamation marks on any of the hardware. My guess is that you dont have the drivers installed for your NIC.
