how long will it last me in terms of playing current and upcoming games w/o frameskip. because thats the best card I can get after I spend my money on a good processor + RAM
It will play most currently released games. It won't last to long prolly another year and a half before you start seeing jerky's.But you can always overclock, bump setting's down, unlock pipelines(if possible), etc.
Hi Kyin01, Hold up - that vidcard isn't even listed at my supplier (listing starts at Sapphire X1300, cheap) and you can get X1600Pro for ~$100 bucks! You need to buy something okay. Take your time, don't rush, I know it's hard but you've gotta be smart. Well you can spend a lot of money there... Now add the price of the two together, and there is the vidcard you need, LoL :^) Note: X1300 sucks (for games). X1600 no record-setter, but decent performance for a hundred bucks. Or (tycobb?) what's a decent inexpensive GeForce, lemme see here... Ack! 6600 or 7300 - what a dismal choice. Y'know, I believe X1600 (at newer cheap prices) is almost first entry-level choice now... or what? Regards
okay if that was the case How long will AMD Turion64 40 CPU @ 2.2GHz last me if I get this video card: Radeon X1600 256MB
LAPTOP video!? Oh man, I see what you're about - I was thinking 'what's this x700?' LoL, yeesh. If you get a decent laptop with good video, it's gonna cost you... Most 'good' laptops with fast CPUs and lots of memory don't even have vidcards - it's onboard, with shared memory. I have seen laptops with ATI video, probably a wise purchase. But difficult to be fast, like desktop rig... L8R
I always say that a similar performing laptop is about half as much again. I have just picked up a Magazine and you can get a laptop with a Turion64 MT-37 CPU, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 Graphics for £900(I live in the UK). Dave
Just build a very good home comp and have a cheap pentium 3 laptop (thats what I am gonna do...I have the comp, now the laptop is alll I need..) And the X700 Pro according to other such as Sammoris, should last you 5 years but at very basic or minimum settings...but it will still work with games five years from now...x1600 pro is a mid-range card for today's graphic cards (also according to sammoris)
well i would get a desktop except im going away for like 3 years out of country. I can't get a desktop i tried and btw what magazine did you see that on?
Not that I want to stop you or anything but I would recommend you buy a console (360 or Wii) and buy a cheap pentium 3 laptop then..
o...that must be hard on u as well (that is if ur leaving ur family) r u ever going to be staying someplace? I ask because if you are then get a small screen on the laptop and buy a lcd screen...if you are not going to have a "steady" home then get a big screen on ur monitor... You probably figured this out on your own but just saying...in case u havent... P.S. Having a small screen on the laptop will decrease price, weight, and size of the laptop! (and maybe even battery consumption!)
yeah it won't be steady every other week I have to switch between my uncle's house and aunt's house in Indonesia. I get to share a room with my cousins for 3 years So laptop is the only thing I can get thats why i was asking which would last me longer
Kyin01: The Magazine was Computer Shopper. It was being sold by Evesham and is a Quest A420 advertised to have "Stunning Mobility Graphics". It has also won an award and carrys the Vista Capable badge. Dave
Wow that is awesome!! I get everything for only 1k$ do you know if they ship to the US or Indonesia? If they do, do you think it will be over 100$ shipping? I never ordered something out of country before.
Not a clue. I have just sent them a E-Mail asking. Here is a link for the Laptop: http://www.evesham.com/products/info.asp?e=EEE0CBE7-80C1-46B9-B8FA-3E3BD42A60B5 Dave
