i am having problem with burning under xp..my cdrw can't write any more, it still reads regular cds, just cant' recognize any cdrs or cdrws, not even those it wrote before!! All cdr show up as blank or corrupt. I've tried to unistall ALL other burning software , nero, blindwrite... .actually , i tried everything, update firmware, get new aspi, get cdr burning patch for xp from microsoft.....all failed.. During burning everything seems fine and software reports success, but burned cds just can't be read. and sometimes it freezes, cdrw locks at the end of burning. have to end session or restart pc. cdrw itselfs seems to be working fine : as 1. lights suggest working properly. 2. still read other cds, except cdrs (Is it possible that a broken CDRW can still read but not write?) I've wasted more than a dozon cdrs now, and The only "successful" burning was through media player 9 to burn a mp3 data disk. and my cd rom recognized it for a few seconds(won't play though) and it won't read the disk any more........ Any one have some suggestions or advice? thanx a lot!! CDRW Yamaha 4416E (firmware 1.0j)
Sad to say but i think your burner is toast. I had the problem ahile back with my LG48x24x48. -- It might not be but that was my experience.
