i got an ati radion RX9550 video card with an s-video output for hooking it up to a tv. im not sure how to set up the catalyst control center for better picture quality on my tv. the desktop looks fuzzy and text is unclear. watching movies i have stored on my comp look good, but not as good as on a computer monitor. my tv is a 30" widescreen hdtv tube tv. anyone know any procedure to make it clearer?

S-Video is down-converted to 480 lines of resolution so your nice HD set if being fed an analog NTSC SD signal. This is misleading since you can specify a higher resolution, but the TV circuitry has to comply with NTSC standards for SD. Of course, if you set has a digital input you may be able to connect your DVI port to the set directly or with a DVI to HDMI converter.

    Good Luck,

you will never be able to get clear text on a analog tv

analog tv is 352x I forget the other portion, the minimum most windows xp installs like to use is 800x600, you more then double your resolution when using a computer monitor over a analog tv.

Analog tv does not have a high enough resolution to display text clearly, if you have to have this, pony up to a hdtv with rgb inputs, then get a ati radeon 9500 - 9800 series card, then order the rgb adapter from ati and connect that way.
