    you need xcode

xcode is a cd that comes with a purchased full version of mac os x not restore cd version thatcomes with your computer you need to purchase a new copy of mac os x to get xcode and purchase a book on xcode there is a lot of things you can do in xcode

but realbasic is for real player users and sucks if you want to write a game

Did he say he wanted to write a game? No. And it will take much more learning to code a game. Definitley not for beginners.

REALBasic has nothing to do with RealPlayer. I think you are geting confused with REAL Producer Basic which is a tool for producing content with RealPlayer. The two parent companies are totally different.

And you can write games with REALBasic, but I agree with tocool4u's comments.
