Hi there. I searched the forum for a good 30 minutes trying to answer my own question before posting it but I am still in the dark so I apologize if I overlooked something. Anyway, here is my issue. I have a DVD-ROM drive and DVD burner on my PC. The DVD-ROM drive is a HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8162B The DVD burner is a DVDr/RW DX162D-A I also have a stand alone Panasonic DMR ES-10 DVD burner. Now when I use the DVD ROM and burner on my PC together I never have an issue. Place the DVD in the E Drive, open DVD shrink, copy to the D drive. All works well. Now for whatever reason when I place a disc I made on my stand alone into the E Drive it does not recognize it. Any idea why? The discs I make on my stand alone PAnasonic ARE finalized, they DO play on my DVD players, and it is even recognized on the D drive on my PC, but NOT on the E drive (DVD ROM drive). So if I wanted to make a copy for my parents, instead of the usual copy from E to D drive, I would have to copy from D drive to hard drive then switch discs and insert a blank and burn to D drive. Is there a reason why my E drive is not recognizing these discs? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I've had the same problem with burning disc on my sony Vaio what I found out was some DVD burning software(DVD Shrink) isn't compatible with some DVD-ROM drives also If you're write speeds are faster then the disc this can make a bad burn
Your dvd-rom drive may not recognize the media. Do you have the latest firmware? Your drive is an LG - find firmware on their site http://www.lge.com/ Or here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1625
