HI Phil...I don't have the answer to your problem but you posted to the wrong forum. I'll ask one of the moderators to move this to the hardware forum where I'm sure people can be of help ... Gerry
ummm i gots 512 memeroy got a amd 2.6 processor, ummmmmm dunno what my mother board is ummmm my c drive is fine but its my z:// drive thats down, windows says its working properly but its not initialized i think or allocated its like its been switched off or something
can you take the z drive out and check it in another machin,i'm assuming its ide. you could also try resetting the bios.if you dont oc it should be ok.if you cant find the jumper on the board, try taking the battery off the board for a couple of mins.
i dont really know how to do any off that really, and there isnt a way i can get it to another comp, the cables are all in ok like i said its still in devices but its unallocated and wont initialize, and when i go into my computer its not there theres just a blank space where it used to be HEEEEELP
i really think you need to try resetting the bios m8.maybe resetting it 3 times upset it. it is NOT too difficult.take the side off your case(WITH IT OFF)and look for the silver round battery.take it out for two or three mins. try it,it might solve your problem, and it WILL NOT damage your system.sometimes pc's spit it and a reset of the bios sorts it.
First off, if device manager sees the drive, resetting the BIOS will do nothing. BIOS reports that a drive is present. Question. Why a z:// drive?? Explain how you set this up so we have a better understanding of whats going on. Typically, after C:, the next hdd is named D:, unless otherwise specified. Did you intentionally rename the drive? Do you actually have 2 physical drives, or one drive that has been partitioned into two logical drives? More info please. ~Rich Edit: For spelling
