I realize lately that Mac had made their PC where you can run either Mac OS or Window$. My question is this:
I am a die-hard gamer who has never used a Mac before. I just recently considered purchasing one. My question is if Mac's PC can run both OSs, would that considerably use up the system resources or slow down my computer?
    Thanks in advance.

no not really bootcamp is the most popular application right now to use it is a free beta from apple

    www.apple.com/bootcamp

and it creates a second partition to run windows on seperate from your mac os partition

and windows runs a hell of a lot faster and more stable using boot camp

you also do have the option of getting parallel.. you can run windows xp within mac os x. not NO need to restart your machine.
your game issues, really just depend on what games, and what specs they require. wether you run it in bootcamp or parallels.. it will still run native.

also another thing to consider boot camp has been downloaded

500,000 times at www.apple.com/bootcamp and apple even said so at wddc and parelles wont even give users a trial version because they know there software sucks and they want 300.00 for it so why buy a bad application when you can get a great free application for nothing

Sorry, I cant sit here while you give out mis-information. Like always.

Granted, it is not free like bootcamp, but it still not much money. Consider all it does. The best part about it, you do NOT need to re-boot. Just check out the link.

It is running close to native on the machine. As long as you have the correct ram and power, you should have no issue. Virtual PC is a load of crap. If you need to run something that badly in Windows, buy a PC. Of course the virtual pc won't run on intel machines, it was built for the power pc processor. It was not built for the intel. That's why software companies are needing to make Universal Binaries.
    Have you used Parallels?

p.s: Next time, you can just "Edit" your first reply, instead of making a new post. It is not a crime to do so.

You certainly know how to keep up with your bullshit. What a pile of rubbish.

Calling Parallels a poor copy of Virtual PC shows how little you know. It is obvious that you know nothing about virtualization and emulation and their differences.

For running windows applications Parallels is the way to go with the exception of games and 3D applications because Parallels does not support the graphics card so all the work has to be done by the CPU. This may soon change because they have recently announced they are working to offer fast 3D graphics.

    And Parallels is $79.99.
