MiniDV to PC

    I have a Panasonic PV-GS19 MiniDV camcorder and wish to transfer what I have recorded to DVD. I don't have a Firewire cable yet but am gonig to purchase one. However even with USB I can not transfer the video to my PC. It just tells me that there are no devices connected to my PC. How can I get Windows to detect my camcorder so that I can transfer my video?

    It probably just does not work with USB, but it will with Firewire.
