Do anyone know if Cucusoft is a good avi to dvd program? Also I tried downloading the free download and when i am about to burn it it gives me 3 options it says 3 minute with water..10min..or Full Length watermark?? I dont get it does this mean if I choose the 3min the watermark will only be there for 3 min??

It's been a couple of years since I tried Cucosoft and they had no watermarks then. I would assume you can encode only a 3 min segment, a 10 min segment or the entire movie, all with a watermark. It was a decent encoder but not the best. One of the best, in my opinion, is MainConcept, good out of the box but very tweakable. The trial puts a watermark in the upper left corner but shouldn't bother you and has no other limitations. Fast, too.

Sorry about that. Looks like they changed their procedure in the last little while. Try here and see if this works:http://www.mainconcept.com/site/index.php?id=817 I don't know what the 5 minute restriction is about. Either it's new or doesn't stop at 5 minutes. I don't think it will affect any file you encode.

MC is kinda overpriced at $139.00 and 13 min won't tell you much. Dumb idea. If you're not loaning out the DVD, a player that supports playing data is a good idea. Other encoders to look at are Procoder Express, TMPGEnc Plus or CCE Basic. I think they all have trials with no watermark. Another very good program is VSO ConvertXtoDVD. The trial does insert a watermark in your video and runs at half speed but is highly recommended on this forum and others and no authoring or burning program is needed: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_convertxtodvd_guide.cfm
