First, you will need the XviD or DivX codecs. Get DivX here: http://free-codecs.com/DivX_Free_download.htm and XviD here: http://free-codecs.com/Koepi_XviD_download.htm It doesn't matter which codecs you use, as long as you have at least one of them installed. Now, get #1 DVD Ripper from here: http://dvdtox.com/download.htm You will have to purchase the full version to be able to rip the entire movie, because the trial version has only a 50% conversion limit. Once you have installed #1 DVD Ripper, it's time to pop in the movie of your choice. For DVDs made after 2004, you'll need AnyDVD running in the background. For DVDs made before 2005, it can rip those movies with no problem. Click the disc/arrow in the far-left side of the application to peek into the DVD’s contents. Locate the main movie (frequently labeled “Title 01, Video 01”). Check, obviously, the title that matches the play length of the film. Uncheck everything else.

Click the gear icon and switch to the Output tab. Change the “Default output video format” to “Avi (DivX, MPEG-4)” (or VCD or SVCD), and then change the Video codec to “DivX codec.” Note the codec settings only apply to "Avi DivX, MPEG-4)". Click the Configure button and change the Encode {performance setting “Slow” to achieve the best-quality encoding. Choose 900Kbps bit rate.

Press the “Start” button and get ready to wait. If, for some reason you receive an “AVI Stream Set Format failed” error message, go back to the DivX configuration panel and select one-pass encoding (use the bitrate Calculator button to select the ideal bit rate) to get around the problem.

OPTIONAL: After the processing is done, go back into the Settings panel and click the Output tab. Press Configure and change Variable bitrate mode to “2-pass, second pass.” Press OK, and then click the Size/Bitrate tab. Choose 192Kbps for the best balance of sound quality and size. Press OK again, and then press the OK button on the next screen as well. Wait. Wait. Congratulations, you now have the video. Now, copy all your files onto DivX converter to get even smaller files. Congradulations, you're done.
