Yes, the processor is awesome and very powerful. And if it has the 6100 integrated you should be able to install an X1900 PCI Express because the 6100 chipset is almost exclusive to PCI express motherboards.

Also, you have enough RAM and hardrive space. The ONLY thing holding that computer back is the video. So upgrade as fast as possible. Just uninstall the Nvidia drivers and disable the integrated video. Then reboot with F8 in safe mode and install the ATi drivers. Sit back and enjoy :)

Well, you can't overclock computers from bulk manufacturers because the motherboard will definitely be locked. So don't even look into it because it's a lost cause. Don't worry though because the processor is already more than fast enough for everything you could possibly do on a computer.

I don't know what the power supply is but when you go to buy your video card get a good PSU because those OEM builders aren't known for their PSU quality.

That should be more than enough.

    And the X1900XTX.

    That should be enough.

And it looks like the system comes with a monitor. If thats what you picked out then just get the package. It'll save the trouble of building it yourself and Gateway generally has decent prices so I doubt you will get really badly ripped off.
