u dotn have to use utorrent though.i woudl recommend it though if you have a slow pc.otherwise use Azureus as utorrent does not allow udp connections.

Yes but why would you want UDP. I'll give you a good reason not to use UDP.

UDP is a protocol that isn't for control and reliability.If some data packets gets lost or screwed up, it won't re-transmit them which in turn parts of what ever you download won't work. UDP is only good for downloading Live streams of data like real-time audio and movie streams.

yes but some torrents are udp only(eg the simpsons season 3)
udp is also quicker than tcp/ip.it is used for gaming against other people(using zbattle.net) to play snes games as tcp/ip is too slow if u live far away from the pc accepting the data.
