I contacted a local coffe shop down the street to see if I could use their signal from my house. They said I could, but the signal is weak. I have a PCMCIA card for my laptop, but its not strong enough to get a good conection. I was planning on getting something like a Cantenna or other external antenna. But I would still like to have wireless access in my own home. Can I take the signal from the external antenna and plug it into a router or repeater to have wireless access inside my home?
I expect you probably could. I don't know what the result would be like, but it'd definitely be worth trying!
