I am a little bit confused about RAM and its types:
First Question: From the list below, which one is better? I want to run Intel core 2 duo processor:

    DDR PC2100/266
    DDR PC2700/333
    DDR PC3200/400
    DDR PC3500/433
    DDR PC3700/466
    DDR PC4000/500
    DDR PC4300/533
    DDR ECC/REG
    DDR2
    RDRAM/RAMBUS
    SDR
    SDR ECC/REG
    SODIMM

Second Question: What is Hyper x? Some Kingston Ram chips come with the specification "hyper x" and are a little bit more expensive.

    Third Question: Is 2 x 512 better than 1 x 1024, or the opposite?

i might be wrong but i thought Core 2 Duo motherbards only supported DDR2? in which case DDR2 PC8500/1066 is the fastest, but DDR2 PC6400/800 can run at lower latencies.

    2 x 512 in dual channel will run faster than 1 x 1024

You are correct tailschao. The motherboards for intel core 2 duo's only support ddr2.

@ hodab, hepyer x is the same thing as corsair's XMS series. Simply better quality.
