converting region2 to region1

    i have a region2 dvd from germany and want to change it to region 1 (us) because my dvd player is not region free.what is the best and easyest way to do this without compressing i dont want to lose quality.

    Download AnyDVD or similar software if you want to play it on your PC. If you want to play it on a stand alone player, rip it to ISO and back it up to DL media.

    sorry, probably stupid question, but what is DL media?

    Double Layer media. Also Known As DVD-9. If you want to use DL media, make sure is Verbatim made in Singapore or Taiwan.

    Also, if it's region 2 from Germany, odds are 99% that it's also PAL. If you want to play it on a standalone player you'd need to make sure your DVD player can play PAL. Most DVD players sold in region 1 countries don't play PAL.
