okay so i have the following: 1 AVI file (700mb) 1 AvI file (700mb) 1 subtitle file for the first AVI (.srt) 1 subtitle file for the second AVI (.srt) This is all ONE movie by the way ( i think the its like 1.37gb) anyways im confused as to how to go aobut burning this. first off, how do i need convert these to a burning mode(meaning like iso or something)? also, can i combine them so that they play instantly on my dvde player? how do i add subtitles in these files? basically, i need a step-by-step proceess of how to go aobut doing this THANKS A BUNCH p.s. sorry if this has already been answered and if i posted in the worng section.
Join the avi's using say VirtualDubMod or AVI-Mux GUI, then use Subtitle WorkShop to join the srt's using the first avi. Burn the avi and srt. For a standard DVD player you would have to convert to DVD video before burning though.
hmm okay a few more questions: 1. so when i play this DVD , will it play the first file that i want or will it randomly play it? 2. im still confused abut how to put the subitiles on it, by just putting the first subitle of the first aci willl automaticcally add the second sub to the second avi...? can you explain this in depth please? thanks
I have a related problem - I have an AVI file and a eng.srt file. If I drop them into my burner (Deepburner) I get the movie without subtitles. I obviously need to integrate the 2 files in some way before burning. Could somebody please tell me how to do this? Than q
If you have VOBSUB,you can try winavi.It cab convert subtitles(.srt,sub)with avi files to DVD,then burn to disc.You can try trial version first.
It seems Vorsub is a plug in for VideoDub, so presumably I need to download both of these and WinAvi? I was hoping for something a bit simpler - I have wasted hours downloading Filmmachine and Avi2DVD without being able to get them to work. Thanks for your reply.
What I would do (related to caliph's #1 post) I would join the AVIs using the tool already mentioned I would encode the AVI to MPEG-2 using a good encoder such as TMPGEnc or Mainconcept (I use the latter) I would join both srt files using Subtitle workshop (not difficult) I would author a project with DVDLab Pro (there's a trial version)and add the subtitle file I would encode the project and burn with Nero. Overall estimated time using a P IV 2.8 Ghz and 1 Gb Ram: 3 hours maximum
There´s a much easier way my friend. I take it that you allready renamed the .srt files so that the two .avi files and the two .srt files are identicle. Then use ConvertXtoDVD and simplely drag the two .avi files over. If you push the + icon in front of the .avi you will see that the substreams are allready included. Then simpely press convert. When the converting has finished the program teels you that it is ready to burn. Then put a dvd in your burner and press burn....simple as that.

is there another program besides ConvertXtoDVD that doesnt have the watermark because its a trial version? i only have one movie and it seens buying the key for $40 for one time use isnt worth the money.
AVI2DVD (free) will combine your 2 avi files, add the subtitles and create an iso image file that you can burn to DVD with ImgBurn (also free). Just make sure you rename your avi and subtitle files as described in the AVI2DVD guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/avi_to_dvd_avi2dvd.cfm
