Hi, I'd like to build me a cheap mediacenter. Basically this is what I'd like: 1. Digital TV-receiver 2. Watching/Recording Digital broadcasts 3. Silent so it don't require turning off (I sleep in the same room) (4. Can it run on Linux??) I don't know a thing about what is required for mediacenters, so if someone could give me a little advice and some price estimates for it, I'd really appreciate it.
check out the "I am the clay" posting for good reading on what you want to do, as far as cost, I built a el cheapo tivo unit for my parents out of spare computer parts, all it cost me was 100 bucks for the tv card. check out www.team-mediaportal.com
