Hi - I have a nvidia 6800. It can't play oblivion w/ all settings on max without lag. I want to play oblivion w/ all settings on max. Please help me decide what to do. Should I get 1 ati x1900, or 2 ati x850's? Also, if your knowledgeable about SLI please inform me how it inceases the gaming experience, I know little about it.
I've been doing alittle research. Is it true that the x850 is better than the x1300? The x850 has 16 pipelines, the x1300 has 4. Whats up with that? Shouldn't the x1300 be better? Also, about sli, I know it improves speed & framerate, but does it actually improve the picture quality?
here it shows all of the ati cards compared it shows every spec except the price and yes the X850 is better than the 1300
Where does it show all the ATI cards compared? And should I get 2 x850's or 1 x1900? Can I please have a few opinions? Thanks.
wow as long as im aware u cant have sli on an ati card but u can have crosfire (which is the same thing) do u have a sli mobo or a crosfire mobo anyways with a nvidia 7950gx2 u will definetly play whatever game u please on high
no74 , list your PC specs. the lag is probably caused by not enough memorey and if you dont have a top notch machine a highend video card isnt going to help that much . it all works together. dont get 2 X-850s ,check my sig this is a gaming machine
You have Nvidia 6800? AGP or PCI-E? If AGP look at this http://firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6800_unlocking/page2.asp
His PC specs are in his signature... The 850 is better than the 1300 because the 1300 is just a model number its not like Nvidia where the higher the better. I recommend you go for the 850, just make sure you get the DDR3 and the Crossfire edition, you also have to have a crossfire motherboard. Here is a link to the video card. http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=008484&cid=999.243 If you dont get it in crossfire edition then you wont be able to use 2 of them.
@moatezhab - not trying to start a fight, only help someone out. But how does these specs in the signature tell me AGP vs. PCI-E? I can [bold]assume[/bold] it is a newer board with PCI-E because of the AMD 4600 processor, but that would be [bold]assuming[/bold] We all would know for sure with more information.
Really sorry man I honestly wasnt aiming the reply at you I was telling aabbccdd that the specs were in his sig. But you do have a point that nowhere does it say anything about what type of video card he has
aabbccdd, exactly what makes you think my machine won't run it w/ a x1900? i have a amd x2 4600 processor w/ 2000 FSB, and 2gb a DDR2 ram. yes, your 7800 is better than my 6800, but a x1900 stomps even the 7950. also, why do you recommend the x1900 over the dual x850's? Deadrum33, thanks for your post, i do appreciate your time, but i have a PCI-E, and im no interested in overclocking cause i dont know enough about it. moatezhab, aabbccdd recommended the x1900, why do you recommend dual x850's over the single x1900? i just want to understand. does the x850 have vivo?
I reccomend the dual X850 becuase performance wise they are better and a single X850 is able to produce way better framerates then a 1900. I recently bought my video card (XFX 6800GS XX edition) and I took way to long reading reviews and specs. I considered a X850, but the 6800GS XXX edition beat it by a hair, and the X850 stomped on the 1900 in every test and reviewer preformed. My 6800GS can play Oblivion on close to all max settings, and 6800GS put into SLI can play at all max settings with no lag or overclocking, so dual X850's can play Oblivion at the same quality as dual 6800GS. aabbccdd said that the video card you should get would have to be relitively close to his sig, he didnt say get the X1900 "check my sig this is a gaming machine." Hope I helped
OK - this is what i found out.... Radeon X850XT PE Core clock 540MHz PixelPipelines 16 (16 Pixel Shader Processors) Memory Clock 1120 Memory Size 256MB Memory Interface 256-bit ------------------------------- Radeon X1800XT Core clock 625 MHz PixelPipelines 16 (16 pixel shader processors) Memory Clock 1.5 GHz Memory Size 512MB Memory Interface 256-bit ------------------------------ Radeon X1900XTX Core clock 641MHz PixelPipelines 16 (48 pixel shader processors) Memory Clock 1550MHz Memory Size 512MB Memory Interface 256-bit moatezhab, can you please explain to me how the x850 stomps the x1900 in every test? it looks like the x1900 wins, especially for pixel shader processors. also, what exactly is vivo, and is it that important? i think im gonna go with the x1800 or x1900, unless someone can tell me why i shouldn't. thanks for all the help guys.
Personally... Ignore everyone for a moment.. go with your balls and get the X1900XT... the X1800XT is not that much less, plus this gives you a shit load of shader units at your disposel.. not to mention the 512mg will help you and that 50" W.S. lcd of yours... because the res will be streached.... dont get crossfire because.. the performance gain isnt enough to justify having not ability to upgrade to crossifre say you had the X1900XT, and 1 X1900XT can stomp all over any card because of the amout of pixel shader units.... this does not include the the 1gig nvidia card.... that thing is just Pure pipeline... thats why Nvidia is pissing me off...
Sorry about that shit!! Friggin bro is meesin wit my comp again, lil ****. Yes the X1900 will kill the X850, friggin bro... sorry about that shit.
FIHSNERD, thanks for the tips. Everything told me the x1900 was better than the x850, but a few members really had me 2nd guessing. I'm gonna get the x1900, 48 pixel shaders is pimp. Whats up with that 1gb nvidia card? Is it available for purchase? moatezhab, NP. Your bro really had me confused.
yeah u can buy it from here its the best and the most powerful card on the market http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...X2&Submit=ENE&Ntk=all&N=0&minPrice=&maxPrice=
