Can I buy a Motherboard/CPU combo on ebay and swap it with the old one thats currently in my computer? Will it fit into my old PC case? heres the link to the combo: http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-INTEL-P4-3-0...hZ004QQcategoryZ80143QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem Please ask me any questions you need too!
what is your current graphics card? integrated, PCI, AGP, or PCI-E. 'cos that mobo only supports AGP or PCI. What is your current ram? DDR or DDR2? 'cos that mobo only supports DDR. So long as your case is not a mini tower it should fit.
I have a 64mb TNT2 VideoCard and DDR Ram, no Its not a mini tower, So how will I install the Motherboard , Just screw it on? Will i have to reinstall a operating system?
yeah that should work, there should be 5 or 6 screws holding the old motherbard in the case, line up the new one with the holes and srew them in. I don't think you'll need to re-install the OS, but have the disc to hand just in case. I'm being a bit vague aren't i? heh, sorry
wow first lets talk about better deals than that im no amd fan (intel 4 life) but u could get a amd (dual core) and a mobo for that same price and it would b alot faster
The thing was the guy on ebay was going to preinstall the CPU onto the mobo, because Im not that skilled of a PC Installer I dont want to damage the mobo or CPU
also newegg doesnt ship to Canada...i live in Canada , are there any other discount sites like newegg that'll deliver to Canada?
Quote:"dude if u could handle a keyboard u could definetly put the cpu on the mobo its like pluging a usb" ________ No, it isnt...I know what you mean tho...ya, it is easy but risky...everyone such as pc gamer mag (and/or some other other mags) makes it sound soooo hard tho...I have a better way to describe installing a CPU, its like difusing a bomb, but u DO know wat ur doing! It's risky because if you cut the wrong cable...BOOM! but if u cut the right its no problem at all!!! LOL!! Like my example??!
I disagree with that example... nowadays installing a CPU to a MOBO is more than doable, most of the time it's just a matter of simply *but carefully* plugging it in...
