i've been having recent shut offs, not sure what it is, im thinking its the psu, my computer would work fine and after maybe 1/2 hr while running, it would shut off, than i'd have to switch the back of it off and on, and now its gotten to the point where it would only run for 2 seconds than shut off completly, so im not sure if its that or not. any help would be greatly appriciated
Edit. i have a 2.4 ghz pentinum 4, 512mb of ram, 80gb hard drive, 550W psu i think, i have 9700 radeon with windows xp. i believe. anything else let me know

if the cpu heatsink/fan assembly bracket on the motherboard breaks off on 1 corner than cpu overheats faster as heatsink not sitting properly on cpu.

kk, i'll take a closer look of it, but i dont think it would break all by its self. or would it?, cuz out of no where it just kept on shutting off, than it happened more often then usual until at the point where im at where it only turns on and turns off

open ure case and clean the heatsink with a brush and check to c if it has a bracket broken
