How do you rip sound only from DVD to mp3 format?

    For example, I would like to rip the sound from a music video DVD into mp3 format so it can be burned onto CDR and listened to on an mp3 player. I know how to burn mp3 files onto CDR, just looking for a prog to rip the sound into mp3 format.

    I did this a while back using Smart ripper (included in GordianKnot) for extracting the PCM audio stream to a .wav file. If your music video contains something different as audio track you probably need BeSweet to convert to mp3 after extracting. Resampling to 44.1 kHz (using SSRC, IIRC integrated in BeSweet) is a good idea as lame's encodes are better quality at 44.1 kHz than at 48 kHz sampling rate.

    All programs needed you'll find in afterdawn software section.

    To get more detailed information about how to create mp3s files from DVD you might want to read some threads in DivX forum.
