    Hi, I'm wanting to backup another dvd of mine.

    How do I add the subtitles when encoding the divx?? Is there a special ripping setting somewhere? Can VirtualDub do it?

    Also a starwars Episode 2 backup I did, I got really awsome quality but maybe the image was a tad smoothed together (not very sharp). Maybe thats cos I'm a perfectionist but :p

    What is the precise bicubic thing? I had mine set to 0.75 last time. Will decreasing/increasing that produce less blurr?

    Finally is waterworld out on dvd yet? I want to buy it!

    Thanks :)_X_X_X_X_X_[small]->E§F<-[/small]

    OK heres a guide on how to add subtitles to your divx movie...it'll only work if you still have the vob files from the dvd you encoded to divx.
    http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/vobsub.htm

    If you want a sharper image try the lanczos(not sure of spelling, but it should be an option in vdub when resizing) filter.

    Increasing will give sharper picture, but remember the sharper the image the bigger the filesize.

    Waterworld? you really want that movie? I personally thought it sucked big time, but thats just me.... :)_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Life is but a dream...so wake me up already!!![/small]

    Thanks Powerdup for that.

    Did you mean to increase sharpness, use the lanzcos3 or just increase precise bicubic to 1.00???

    Waterworld? :p Cos I haven't seen it before haha.

    Well both ways work, you can use precise bicubic 1.0 or switch over to lanczos. They both sharpen the picture although lanczos works much better than precise bicubic.
