What is a good burn speed??

    I am new to burning dvds Im am using Dvd Shrink with some taiyo yuden DVD+R 1-8x. What is a good speed to burn at 4x?? Will my burns at 8x come out just as good as 4x??

    Depending on your DVD Player but you are using really good media so the speed probably wont matter...but its always better to burn slow is what i say..

    Mate as long as u are using good media the standard burn speed that is safe is 4x at this speed u will have less issues arising.

    i think it depends on the media quality, your burner and the stand alones player(s) that will be playing the backup dvds. i have always (since 8x was available) burned at 8x and never had any playback problems with my sony standalone player, even using the cheap variously branded cmc media (i now use verbatim exclusively, more for longevity than immediate quality of playback).

    given all that... probably the slower you burn it the less likely there is to be a problem in any standalone player...

    see thats were things differ over here at my home,both the DVD players will not read verbatim or TY at 8X only 4X, and thats the only 2 media's they will read,like i said it just depends but 4X is usually how to do it....

    i use to go 1X on my notebook burner but now i go 4X with a Desktop bnurner. no reason to go below 4X these days. (the notebook was one of first to have a dvd burner, so only 1X)
