What brand router are you using? Do you have another PC hooked up to this router? Whats its IP address? Run 'ipconfig /all' from a command prompt on the other computer and post all the numbers here. We will be able to set you up manually after that.

OK...manually configure these settings into the "limited" computer.

    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.21
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
    DNS Servers(primary). . . . . . . : 4.2.2.2
    DNS Servers(secondary). . . . . . : 4.2.2.1

After you apply these settings, it will take a minute. Be patient. Once the IP properties boxes are closed, you should be able to surf away.

Let me know how it works.

If that didnt work, then there are bigger issues at hand.

Have you tried another cable? Have you tried hooking up this PC directly to your modem (cable or DSL, whichever you have)? Make sure you power cycle the modem once you switch the cables.
