Make sure you haven't more than one Xvid codec installed as they tend to conflict. Also, im not saying this is how you got it (dont be saying either), but if you downloaded it from a P2P system. movie companies are starting to host a lot of fakes there.
    Be aware

Try deleting all of your video codecs, divx included. Then dowbload one of each: divX, Xvid and AC3 codec! Either that or the file is corrupt. Are you using the latest version of your movie player software?

You need good xvid codec, the one offered by this site is enough! A good ac3 codec, in fact, i have had great results with just the divx ac3 codec which is on sharereactor! and ac3 filters! which are availible on this site, also something good to play them in, i recommend windvd cause it never lets me down.

Oh and btw, never say what movie you are downloading etc etc, movie downloading is piracy and if you read the rules you will see that your post is in fact against the rules!

yeah thanks i d/l the AC3 Filter codec for my audio and the file worked but only when i choose to play it with windows media player, if i try to to play it with divx i dont get audio and i get an upside down picture, so in a way my problem was solved, but i dont know why i have trouble with divx

I also have the problem, but I couldn't donwload the AC3 codec from afterdawn.com becaused of the "HTTP_REFERER " stuff.
Can anybody please email me the software to my email address: tenny417@hotmail.com
    Thank you very much.

Yes, I have to say that anti-leech stuff on AfterDawn makes it nearly impossible to download anything. Is that the point of the idea?

You'll have to disable all your firewalls, nortons especially, and then use IE. Hopefully that bypasses it :)
