Winrar (The archive is either in unknown format or damaged)?

I added to archive using WinRAR all my personal work files they are in 2GB WinRAR file in size a month ago and now when I try to open the file I get this message (archive is either in unknown format or damaged)?

Is there any way I can access all my work files again because they are very important files and I cant wait for solution please if any one can help with some advice. Thank you

Well, sounds like its damaged archieve. You can try repairing it in WinRAR.

Thank you ofolion, I tried to repair it with WinRAR but it didnt help I even used Avanced RAR Recovery Program both didnt do it until I used Recover My Files Program and thanks to god I just got my files back as normal so the problem solved

I am having the same problem with my 4gb rar file. I get same error msg, i also have try advanced rar recovery but with no sucess.

what is the exact program name taht you use to fix yr problem ?

and how did you go about it.

I used Recover my files from: http://www.recovermyfiles.com/

But its not free.

I got my files recovered to the point before I send them to WinRAR archive then.

You also can try any of the the free file recovery in this following website:

yea i have the software.. but its no help to me as it only recover deleted files.

its ok thankz anyways.. but i decided to just delete the whole thing off.. just causing too much headache.
