Hi all, I just got a DVD-R burner, and I'm ready to go. I just have a few quick questions - someone please help! (I've read page after page on about 5 different sites, but nothing seems to answer my questions.)

Here they are:

1) Obviously the VOB files contain the movies themselves, but what exactly are the IFO and BUP files?

2) How do you get/create them? (ifo and bup)

3) When burning them to disk, do they have to be named anything in particular and put in any specific directory? (I use Nero to burn).

Last but not least,

4) Say I have a few MPG files that I extracted from an SVCD. What do I have to do to burn them to a DVD? Do I have to convert them to VOB or should nero do the converting? Either way, how would I go about burning them to dvd?

Again, excuse me for being so ignorant in these matters - and thanks in advance for helping me!
