Hi ppl, I'm having this very very uber-retarded problem with my PC. I need help asap, willing to do anything to make this go away. My hard-drive couldn't been backed-up, so it was backed up on a different computer, and then everything that I needed after the format was placed on Drive E: So, I have Local Disk C, Drive D, and another Local Disk E. But it seems that anything that I try to open from that drive (any folder, zip file, etc.) will take ages to open. Is my memory affected with this in any way? Ok, lemme explain my problem in details:

I have thousands of screenshots (jpeg files) in folders, (it's for a movie) and I use Sony Vegas to import/edit them. Now, when I import, for example the first folder (I have like 45 folders, each containing at least 100jpegs) then it starts lagging my computer, and it freezes the program(s). Therefore, I am UNABLE to import/open things within that drive, which is really driving me nuts.

Interesting, however, if I import anything that's NOT from drive E:, then it works fine. So ok, I thought it's too-encrypted in drive E:, I'll move to D:, and I'll reformat my PC. See if that works....well I formatted but the stuff wasn't on D:, it remained on E:. It seems I cannot copy ANYTHING without that gawd awful "Cyclic redundancy check" error, along with the "Cannot open *filename* from source file or disk." -errors. Guys, I appreciate ANY help, and I need this "cured" asap! I oh so don't wanna format again, I don't wanna lose the stuff I have, and it just gets me really frustrated. :(
EDIT: Please help me guys, I'm ready for anything. :)

Is this three different hard drives or one drive partitioned into three?
