I would like to call on anyone who can help. I recently decided to buy a DVD Recorder (Panasonic DMR-E55) for my lounge and as I only have 2 DVD-RAM discs, I would like to backup my recordings to DVD-R through my PC.

I know I need to edit the recording to remove adverts etc and have heard of TMPG DVD Author, DVDLab etc but these are quite expensive and I was hoping for a straight forward solution like copying to my PC then copying this to a write once DVD so I can watch it on my bog standard DVD player but obviously this isn't the case......

    HELP....please!!!

Your pc would need a drive that reads RAM discs; then software to extract the files to your hdd in a dvd format. It may get funny, as the only program I've been able to use for this is intervideo dvdcopy.

I'm sure you'll get more suggestions.

Thank you for this. I have an LG GSA H10N drive so the DVD-RAM reading is not an issue, its the fact that I need software to convert it which is my problem.

I got a CD with the drive which has PowerDVD and Powerproducer on it but I have heard bad things about these and don't want to get into a program where you need a degree to use them!!
