This message is directed to [bold] everyone [/bold] (that's why we have a forum after all) I cannot get my dvd burner to work on dvd+R DL disks. I am using Verbatim disks and Nero version 6.6.14 with all the latest upgrades. I had Nero 7 Ultra on my machine but it didn't work either. I have given up with Nero help as they don't even bother to return my emails. Then I read your piece and signed up right away. Firstly I removed all of Nero from my computer and followed your instructions to the letter. I have nvidia drivers on my machine to run my video card but have uninstalled my nvidia IDE drivers. I uninstalled both of my cd/dvd burners and reloaded the windows drivers by default. and all my ide/ata controllers are set to DMA if available. Once I had done all that, I reloaded Nero 6 from a disk I got from my brand new Sony DVD RW DRU-820A and my LG HL-DT-ST-RW GCE-8525B cd/dvd drives. I then followed proceedure to burn a 5 gig movie and got the following error message: **Failed to get disk content.** How do I remedy this? And how do I show you the error log file that I have created? I can't seem to cut and paste here. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated as I have wasted 30 dollars worth of DL's to date. Thanks
tlsomer , I know I am not Alkohol but you might want to PM him to make sure he sees this as there are alot of posts here at AD. If you are trying to do D/L DVD's then Nero is not the program to use. Use Imgburn after you have ripped the DVD to HD use DVDFAB and VobBlanker. Nero has problems w/ the layer break flag. Alkohol, Sorry as I did not mean to bust in
Thanks man, However I haven't a clue what you said - LOL, too mant acronyms. What is IMGburn and how do you use it, never heard of it before. What is Vobblanker and how does it work? Why do we pay big bucks for a program that doesn't work when they say it does? and then won't even answer my help pleas?? Any how if you coulddirect me to more info on what you said so I can understand it in dummy language it would be greatly appreciated. By the way how do I post log files here?? T

I'm not Alkohol either but I'll just add my two cents.... To post a Nero log first you have to find it. Nero makes a log after every burn so you have them already. Just go here on your PC to find them: If Nero 7... C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory.log If Nero 6... C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log Here you will find every log for every burn you have done. The last log will be at the bottom. Take a look at the date to figure out where one ends and another begins. Look down the left side of the log. You can see dates and times there. At the top of each log you will usually find your name and Nero serial number. You don't want to post those. Simply copy/paste the entire log into a reply. Hope this helps!
I guess I didnt explain myself well enough. I have the log right on my desktop, what I don't know what to do is get it on afterdawn.com so you guys can read it. Yes I pm'ed Alkohol and I will go to those sites and research them. I still would like to know how a company like Nero won't respond to my pleas for help. After all they've got my money. T/
tlsomer, You cut and paste it here in this thread. Nero will aventually answer you but you might be 25 years older. CDFreaks posts a Nero forum and CCampbell is their rep and he does post there. You can ask him as that is the quickest way to get your answer

@Carmike This is to let you know tgat A/D has a VERY good Nero forum so I cannot see the need to send members to another forum seeking advice. Had he posted in the Nero forum then I am sure his queerie would have been answered by now. @tlsomer, As far as I am concerned heres my take on Nero 6.6.1.4 Nero 6.6.1.4 This version of Nero contains some bugs, uninstall, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html and then install this more stable version, BOTH packages http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe If you post a Nero log as requested then further help can be given, the log is located here Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt Highlight your Nero log, then ctrl c(cut) and then paste (cntrl v) in the reply box.
Gwendolin, Sorry but he was wanting to complain to Nero and since Craig has not visited here in awhile. That is the only place I know of you can actually converse to a Nero Person. I know the Nero Forum here is good as you do an excellent job there.
Thankyou people, My appologies for directing a message to a single person. In my desparation to resolve this issue, I neglected to view the rules as I'm beyond the point of desparation here! For some reason, and I'm not computer illiterate, but cut and paste does not work for me here. It doesn't matter if I use my mouse or the keyboard, cut and paste does not work. Any suggestions? As for the uninstal and re-install of Nero, I will try that. What about Nero 7 ultra, I have that as well and it doesn't work either? I have paid good money for these 2 liscences.
