Yeah, I got a blue screen of death and when It restarted, I got this message. Primary Master: < SATA Device Not Found > Secondary Master: < SATA Device Not Found > I only have one harddrive, and if you wait a bit after it it says the sata thing, the system loads normally. When I log in though, every time it says "your system has recovered from a serious error" message. How can I fix this? Also, I've noticed when I'm watching a movie, I think ive gotten the Blue Screen Of Death except once when I was scrolling on a website. What is wrong? can anyone help me? the computer seems to work fine otherwise though... what can I do to fix this? Its a custom built computer I have, but its worked fine for almost a year and a half now... Thanks
Don't be so impatient... http://searchwincomputing.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid68_gci911516,00.html See that ^ ^ ^ Np's,
Have you tried formatting? Sounds like a dying harddrive. Whats the make and model of your harddrive? Lecsiy
oh jeeze... that was a few years ago.. maxtor is the brand though.. my computer says thers only 130 gig, but I know I bought one bigger... I think maybe 200's... I never even got close to useing it all though so i didnt care if it only saw some of the harddrive space... Thanks for the help okay, checked the link, my bios is Award Software International, Inc. F4 8/8/2005 Last time I re-formatted my hard drive and installed my OS, I just did the "quick formatt" ive never done it before, but I figured it wouldnt make a difference. Does anything I've said help you help me figure out whats wrong?
If it doesn't get recognised at all, then it could be on its way out as lecsiy says. If you can, try putting it in an external enclosure and see if that works. Quick Format, while it can cause problems, wouldn't lead you to a "device not found" message. n00b suggestion, but it may also be worth checking it's still attached properly!
