It's been a year since i built my AMD Athlon 3500+ and i'm noticing now its been overheating. I kept the stock fan cause i'm not an overclocker and rarely play PC games. I thought the problem came cause the recent Summer heat wave but now its even hotter now that weather temps are normal. Here are some specs to look at. Temps: Motherboard - 40 C CPU - 49C Idle (reaches 55C after typical work loads) HD1 - 39C HD2 - 34C Cooling Fans: CPU - 4821 RPM I have a PSU that has two exhaust fans and i have a 4in. fan blowing to move the air. I recently cleaned the stock thermal paste and put a fresh dab on but the temps are still high. Hope i gave enough info...thanks
What kind of thermal paste are you using? Having used this product myself after receiving recommendations for it, I would suggest buying yourself a tube of Arctic Silver. When applying it to clean surface, just use enough to cover the entire surface area in a realy thin layer. Also, posting how many fans and how you hook them up (eg: to the motherboard or to the molex power cables) would probably help me come up with a better answer.
dont tell me thats overheating... my home built computer operates at that temp.. I've been running it 24/7 though for almost a year a and a half though..
