    Hi
I have just built a pc and the last thing to be configured was (is) DVD RW, which is an IDE device. it can't be configured though I have put the correct jumber and the cable headings are correct too. Now I can't go further with installing windows and the other programs. what can be the problem?

    I use:

    NEC dvd wr
    P5B duluxe/WIFI AP
    SATA II hard drive
    Geil 1 gb memory
    core2duo e6400

I am very desperate, I don't know why my dvd wr can't be recognized... I have paid about 1800$ for this system and it doesn't work :(:(:(

and I have Hyper PSU, type R 530 W... I have already other dvd and cd drives, but they can't be recognized either...

in the bios setup, in the Boot Device Priority, it shows my hard drive and something called:"Atapi CD drive". there is not the name of my dvd drive there...

problem solved... I had tightened the mobo's screws very hard, and because of the big typhoon's under-mobo-tightening-thingys the mobe was not in a 100% flat position. I loosened the screws and it worked... :):):)
