new user needs help with .ts video

I received two files named .....ts(part1 or 2) avi. My avi player, windows, DIVx Playa and vdub will not open with this file. Should play as an avi but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

I also have downloaded a two part .avi file that has a .ts extension. I have tried playing in Windows Media Player. All I get is an annoying sound (kind of like a data/fax modem).

Any help would be appreciated.
