does anyone know why i can't get my coolsat to come off stand by..i have tried the remote and the power button...neither one works...thanks for the help.
Did this happen after you changed something, like a bin update?? If it did this on its own try unplugging it for a few minutes (like 5 minutes) then try it again. If it happened after an update, it may not have taken the update properly. Jerry
I think it might have not taken the update correct. Now i can't get it to take anything becouse it won't come off stand by. it tells me to turn on the box but i can only turn on the back and then the front is still on stand by...anything i might can do? its a coolsat 5000 platinum. I have left it unpluged all night still same thing hmmm...beats me

Along the top of the remote you have several buttons to control TV, DVD,VCR,STB. Have you pushed on any of the other buttons in error. Push the STB button, then the power button? If you have pushed any of the other buttons your remote will not turn on the receiver. Just a thought.
try unplugging your recvr.then hold the power button in (the one on recvr not remote)then plug it in ..this fixed same problem i had with my ultrastar 5000
