    i have downloaded 2 movies from the net however both seem to do the same thing which is its the whole movie seems to all be there but the video freezes after about 10 sec and the sound continues to play fine. if i ffwd the file the sound moves ok but picture still remains frozen in the same place.
    someone suggested making a Direct stream copy of the file virtual dub. I had a fiddle with it and actually managed (by fluke) to get to view video further on in the film so i am assuming its all ther. but how do i have a direct streme copy on vdub?? any help appreciated.

    Have you got the right codecs installed.

    D/L G-Spot from the software section to check..

    Make a backup copy of the file and then run it through avifixed! it might remove the corrup frame for you! Also try divfix!

    Heres the link to the program:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divfix.html

    Not to sound like a bastard, but you could have just typed in "divfix" in any search engine(yahoo!)and been directed to the site yourself....
    Good luck.

    Is there a link that actually works for avi fix?

    That one if you try download from it, always brings up some antileech page. And the official download site doesn't exist anymore :\

    Open VDub
    Open Movie File
    Video --> Direct Stream Copy
    File --> Save As Avi (give it a different name)
    Wait 2 minutes
    If the movie isnt entirely corrupted then you should be able to watch it normally now.
