How do I configure my PATA drives

    I just built a new PC but my DVD drive is SLOOOOOOW.

    How do I optimize my PATA drives.

    Is there anything tweeks that can be done to my SATA drives as well?

    whats is slow about ure dvd does it read slow while watching a dvd or when copying it? what burner do u have?

    Reading of the DVD drive. If I copy large data off a disk and move it to my hard drive it can take up 15-20 minutes.

    It is a Sony DVD burner. I had this same drive in my old PC and it was slow until I made a registry tweak to it, Then it was nice and fast. However its been some time ago and I don't remember that tweak.
